What’s homecoming like and what’s a cool way to ask a guy to the dance?

I want to ask a sophomore football player out to homecoming. I’m a freshman and I have no idea what homecoming is like.
Isn’t homecoming after a football game? What happens if I end up going with this guy Will he be able to pick me up or what? I’m so confused. Lol.

haha, i’m kind of confused too, but at my school i think homecoming is the day after the game, not sure about your school. and if you want to ask him out make sure you actually know him well, and actually talk to him a lot, lol. you could just go up to him and be like “are you going to homecoming?” and if he seems eager then ask him, but if he’s just like “ummm..i don’t know…” then just be like “ok, because i’m not sure if i should go, and i wanted to who was going” or something like that.

uh… usually the guy asks the girl… but i suppose you could “think outside the box” At my school, homecoming is the day after the game… its on a saturday… and homecoming lasts an entire week… kinda like a spirit week… there’s a parade… a dance (of course) a homecoming queen and king, and a game… and other things… usually the guy picks you up earlier and you go to dinner together or with a group before the dance… good luck
P.S. All the info i gave you is specific to my school and i’m not sure which are more general, but i think a lot of it transfers over to most other schools ;D
