What are you supposed to wear to homecoming?

I’ve never been to a homecoming dance, so I don’t know what I should wear. I have this really nice dress, it’s white with black polka dots, but it’s a spring dress made of cotton (I LOVE IT THOUGH 
) so I don’t know if I should wear that or not.
some of my friends are just going to wear their band uniforms since the dance will already be 20 minutes in by the time the band gets there from the stadium. but I have someone to impress [;)] so I don’t want to wear that.
help?

At my school, we wear knee-length dresses. It can be whatever style you want, just not too formal.

At my old high school they always gave us suggestions. Homecoming is usually a semiformal event, as compared to Prom, which is very formal. Your dress sounds very cute and appropriate. Girls who wore long prom dresses to my Homecoming always looked overdressed and like they were trying too hard. Tea length, pretty dresses are more appropriate.

Somethign not to dressy and not to casual. Myabe a long shirt (tunic) with leggings. Metallic leggings and neon leggigns are in now. If you’re not a leggings person go for a classic dress. Somethign short, nothing too glittery or glamorous. Skinny jeans with a really, really glamorous top are prefect alos. The top could balance out the casuality of the jeans. All those are great options. But it depends on what you’re comfortable wearing.

u can wear a knee-length girly dress like the one u have!
it sounds really cute, but for some reason i imagine it with a cute black bow in the front…….

Go to the library and get last year’s yearbook and look up last year’s homecoming. Also, ask around to see what others, not just band people, are wearing. Have fun!
