Homecoming is held around October.
Prom is anywhere from April-June. It really depends on the school.
You should get your stuff early.

Homecoming is always in the fall during football season (not sure how the exact date is set, but usually around september or october or even november..) Prom is always in the spring towards the end of the school year, like in April or May. Again, the exact state is usually set by the school.

homecoming would be during homecoming week during football season and prom would be kinda toward the end of the year

there is no specific date, but rather a usual month that they are held. Homecomings are usually held in november, and prom is usually held in later april, early may before graduation. However, this is in south florida. It is different up north because their entire school years are shifted about a month later.
