prom dress
candace asked:

My Senior prom is coming up and I don’t have a dress. My parents are both unemployed and my hours have been cut at work. I was wondering if anyone out there knows how I can raise $185 to buy my dress, or maybe knows of any companies that woud donate money to help me out. Any suggestions would help me out a lot. Thanks.

    well you can do this without spending a dime…
    -borrow a dress(cousin/friend)
    -check out websites(there are many organizations that donate prom dresses)

    [= good luck !

    if you want to earn money you can always help around the house or mow the lawn for your neighbors or get a job like babysitting someone. but what i will tell you is NEVER EVER EVER get one of those jobs online even though they say that it is 100% guaranteed that you will earn tons of cash. i hope this answers your question!

    You could try retail stores for a look a like dress.
    Take up baby sitting charge $20 per hour
    Bake Sales
    Do any kind of community service charging a reasonable amount per hour/etc.
    Hope this helps!

    this girl at my school was selling pain killers to raise money. I wouldn’t suggest that though.
    one of the radio stations I listen to donates dresses so maybe there is something like that for you.
    you could try talking to your school counselor about it. they are so helpful and would help you find something.

    I would recommend not spending $185 on a prom dress. I would either borrow one, buy one some where cheaper, like ROSS has really great dresses, or even go to a used clothing store. The dresses there are cheap, and almost all of them have only been worn once, and taken really good care of. I guarantee that almost all of them look brand new!

    Ok, im sorry for your parents unemployed, i mean it happens! but dont put yourself down. there are sooo many things to raise even 500 dollars!! i have to offerings, which include you can buy your dress at a different store thats cheaper, like macys. but believe it or not, nordstroms has some dresses for 70 bucks! i got mine from macys for 70 i guess. so there is one alternative.

    The second one is that you can raise money! you can do:

    * have a garage sale!
    * ask for a raise, or even get a higher paying job quick lol!
    * you can sell things on ebay!
    * if you want to save money for ur dress, maybe dont use much elecricity nd tv and water plumbing so it could save maybe over 100 dollars!

    thanks!

    Actually you can look at local thrift stores and see if you can find one there. Then you could use the remainder of the money for shoes and other things, like clutch bag, jewelry. See if you have any consignment shops in your area, places where they take things from people and put in their shops and then when they sell they each get a portion of the money. Also, I have looked at a lot of prom dresses for other young ladies on here and have found that all of the major department stores are having sales, like JC Penney’s, Macy’s, Dillards, Sears, check out GoJane.com too. Some of the dresses I have seen are about $52.00 and they look nice. They are short ones, but it seems like everyone is going short with their prom dresses this year.

    Well another option is that you can buy a much more affordable dress.. not the $185, cause from the looks of it you already have some money but the dress that you want cost $185

    Here try this link, it might give you an idea on what dress you could get for less than $185

    Good Luck.
