What is a good formal dress style to pair with a pair of mary jane high heels?

Ok so i have a formal dance / banquent thing to attend at the end of march for a club i am in. I want to wear a pair of mary hane high heels that i found on wet seals website i just don’t what kind of dress would look good with it while still keeping it formal. I don’t plan on spending more than $50 on the dress. Any ideas?
