They are not junk stores, a lot of them are very picky about what they will take, quality of available goods has risen greatly in the last few years. One where I live has some knockout prom/wedding/formal dresses and they're usually priced $20 or below. Chances are, if you find something there, it's only been worn once. Try many different places if you don't find anything you like in the first store you try, I'm sure you'll find something you like, and it will be priced right. If you find a consignment shop, they might have something, too, but you will likely be close to or exceed your price range, even there. Good luck!
