    You could rub it in dirt and grease to look dirty.

    trim it really sloppy a lil on the bottom and for the arms … put like a red hand print on it … get some dark eye shadow or any dark powdery thing and brush some on it to make it look dirty .. i hoped i helped .. have fun at the competion

    Well many of the answers tell you to rub it in dirt, but you really kinda want it to ‘look’ dirty not ‘be dirty’… =}
    If your dress is a dark color, you probably don’t need to dye it, but if it is a light color, you may want to. But if dying your dress is out of the box, it would be fun to go with a pretty, light colored zombie dress. =)
    You can cut up your dress and make little holes but if you don’t want to cut your dress, perhaps you can do something like this:
    You can rip up fabrics that you can make it dirty like rags and sew them to your dress much like the picture (hanging from the waist line )
    That would make your dress raggy and looking dirty i guess.
    But dont forget little accessories, they make huge differences.
    You can add a scary tiara on your head to make it kinda fairy but scary?(just suggesting) You can get the same fabric as the hanging drapes and make it into a dirty sash and tie it around your waist so you still look well-fitted but scary. And you can always add extra fabrics everywhere so your dress looks raggy.Oh, one more suggestion, you can add those fabrics and cut them up messy and sew some on your arm sleeves and can make a fabric choke necklace with extra pieces.
    Always look at some pictures of zombie dresses online or go to a halloween costume shop online to get ideas.

    have fun and hope this helped a lot.
    bye =)
